The famous Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is held annually during the second weekend of February…right in the middle of Alumafiesta. RV spaces are coveted during that weekend but your campsite at Lazydays ensures that you’ll be nearby (only five miles) from the convention center.
The main show is cool, even for those not into gems and jewels. It’s a rare opportunity to view private and museum collections of minerals, fossils, jewelry and polished stones from around the world.
Sponsored by the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, Inc., the vast exhibit is the largest gem show in the country, with 250 dealers on site to solve all your gift-giving dilemmas as well. The 2014 theme is “60 Years of Diamonds, Gems, Silver and Gold”.
The rest of the city is loaded with gem show activities too —typically 40-60 separate venues! So there’s an incredible amount to see during the first two weeks of February!
